Brian Kealey has died at the age of 90 in 2026, leaving behind a lasting legacy within his family and the butchery trade in Dewsbury.

His passing was announced by family members, who described Thursday as a deeply sad day for the Kealey and wider butchering family.

Brian Kealey, father of Suzanne, worked at the WMS slaughterhouse on Battye Street in Dewsbury, where he spent a significant part of his working life. It was also through this workplace that his daughter’s relationship began, as it was where her husband Kevin first met her.

Beyond his career, Brian is remembered as a key influence in supporting the family’s butchery business. In May 1987, he helped his son-in-law Kevin get established by assisting with funding the purchase that helped shape the foundation of their long-term success in the trade.

Family members describe Brian as a hardworking and generous man whose support played a major role in the family’s growth and achievements over the years.

He passed away peacefully at the age of 90, leaving behind children, grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends who deeply mourn his loss.
